As believers, the Christmas season is so deeply meaningful. And yet, it’s so easy to fall into the trap of consumerism — to lean into all the commercialized Christmas traditions. As a low-tech family, reading books is a big way we cultivate fun, entertainment and connection. So a simple way to resist the pull into all things manufactured and void of meaning and purpose is to have a Christmas library of meaningful Christ-centered books.

You won’t find Santa Claus and Elves in these books — you’ll find truth, meaning, and purpose. And while your kids will unpack and enjoy the real meaning of Christmas, you’ll cultivate intentional connection time and keep Jesus at the center of the holiday season.
